Last year I announced the exciting launch of the VE Medical Training Academy as a means to better serve the GP community with more, highly trained, medical accountants.
After a very busy 12 months and I’d like to introduce you all to my first recruit, Ralica Patterson! Ralica started training with me in May, having already qualified as an accounting technician. In this time Ralica has been working closely by my side and has learnt many of the major topics in accounting, tax and NHS Pension compliance, specifically in the context of Portfolio, Locum and Salaried GPs. Ralica will continue working closely under my supervision as I support with ongoing training.
I look forward to introducing Ralica directly to each of you soon after the start of the new tax year. You can also read more about Ralica here.
In particular, Ralica’s expertise will enable her to assist with queries relating to:
- Collating your tax return documentation and queries concerning what info we require;
- What expenses can and can’t be deducted for tax relief;
- PAYE Tax Codes;
- Completing Locum A/B forms;
- Calculating your estimated NHS Pension tier rate;
- Navigating the PCSE portal;
- Type 2 form queries.
In May this year I also look forward to introducing you all to another VE Medical Training Academy recruit, Vasudha Agarwal. Vas is a Chartered Accountant and she brings a unique perspective in that she is married to a GP!
