In the last year I have reached my maximum capacity of accounting and tax clients. I really did not expect to be in this position after launching less than two years ago; I have been absolutely blown away by the demand!
As much as I’d like to think it’s a credit to my service and the very high standards I uphold, I suspect it’s also an indication of a very poorly served GP community!
It has both saddened and frustrated me to have to turn away clients who I know will not receive the right advice and service elsewhere, which could come at huge cost to them. I see the consequences all too often when I take over from other accountants.
When I set out, I had intended to remain a lone operator and not take on staff. Service levels are a priority to me and I knew that finding like-minded individuals with an equally high attention to detail would always be a challenge. I had thus decided to not try.
In recent months I have had to re-evaluate this decision in view of better serving your community and your GP friends and family members that are so frequently referred to me.
With this in mind, I have decided to launch the VE Medical Accountancy Training Academy!
VE MEDICAL ACCOUNTANCY TRAINING ACADEMY
My vision is to try recruit people who hold similar values and work ethic to me, with whom I can share my knowledge of all things medical accounting and NHS Pensions, even down to managing PCSE!
If not already qualified, I will also support them through the professional qualification route and give them all the tools possible to better serve your GP community.
All the while, they will remain under my direction and control and I will remain responsible for ensuring a consistent standard of service and quality of work. I will remain personally available to all my clients, albeit assisted by my staff.
Empire building was never my goal and that hasn’t changed, but I will always look for ways to better serve both my clients and their community and this feels like the best possible route.
As / when I have any news to share of any recruits I will let you know! Equally, if you know any suitable candidates for my training programme please point them my way!
IN OTHER NEWS…. VE MEDICAL ACCOUNTANT LTD
I have recently incorporated my accounting tax services into my limited company, VE Medical Accountant Ltd. This makes no difference to you in practical terms, but there will be a few admin and housekeeping tasks over the course of the year as follows:
- New engagement letters to be signed;
- New agent authorisation codes to be issued from HMRC;
- Look out for the new bank account details that will be shown on my invoice.
